Samsung Galaxy Pop CDMA



When it comes to CDMA handsets, there was a time when CDMA subscribers in India had very few options.All they had were a few basic devices or exorbitantly priced phones or smartphones. However, today there are a number of CDMA phones available in the market and one brand that is leading the CDMA category is Samsung.




The Galaxy Pop CDMA runs on Android's 2.2(Froyo) version. With Android 2.3 already becoming a common feature, this is the second best.However,considering the price of the phone,we are not deducting any points for it. There are three home screens by default that can be increased to seven. All of these screen panels can be customised by adding widgets,shortcuts,folders,etc. Moreover, all seven screens can be brought to a single page by pinching. The notification bar is placed on top of the screen and features shortcuts for WiFi,Bluetooth,GPS,Silence mode and auto-rotation. Touch keys for calling,contacts,message and menu are placed at the bottom of the homescreen.


The Galaxy Pop CDMA uses Samsung's own TouchWiz 3.0 UI which makes the phone convenient and easy to use.The experience is further enhanced by the great touch response of the phone.Contacts tab comes with social networking integrations and you can sync your Facebook, Twitter, My space and contacts with it. It also has the option of syncing.




The device features a 3.15-megapixel camera with digital zoom, but lacks flash. It has five shooting modes-single shot,smile shot,continuous, panorama and action shot.One can also choose from various scene modes such as landscape,night,sports,indoor,beach and backlight. There is also an option to set timer,adjust white balance and add effects such as sepia,negative,black & white etc.The picture quality of the phone is great as per the resolution. The devices is capable of capturing 320 X 240 resolution videos at 15 fps.The video quality of the phone is good.The phone supports voice and SMS across all CDMA operators,and only needs an OHM SIM card from any operators. The box of the phone comes with a battery,travel adaptor.2GB microSD card,headset,data cable and studio CD.

The Galaxy Pop CDMA is available in the market for Rs 9,850.Other CDMA option that you can consifer is BlackBerry 8530 that costs Rs 14,000.
