Nokia 600,700,701 handsets announced



Nokia has announced three new smartphones running Symbian Belle update — Nokia 600, 700 and 701. All carrying distinct features have one thing in common — Symbian Belle update. From smallest smartphone to a loudest one, the new breed of Symbian Belle loaded handsets will be full of surprises. These three smartphones will be available in the third quarter of year 2011.


Nokia 600

New Nokia 600 is touted to be one of the loudest smartphones from Nokia and rated at 106 phons for loudness. Sporting a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 640x320 pixel resolution, the Nokia 600 weighs mere 100 grams. Symbian Belle runs on the 600 and is powered with 1 Ghz processor. The 5 megapixel camera with LED Flash at the back is capable of taking 720p video along with high quality still images.


Nokia 600 comes with Near Field Communication chip enabled to be used with emerging NFC apps and accessories like Nokia Play 360 speakers. NFC-enabled versions of Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja games will come pre-loaded on it. With a loud speaker located at the back panel, the Nokia 600 also comes with a FM transmitter and also FM receiver so one doesn't need earphones. Yes, be ready for the annoyances.

Nokia 600 offers a super impressive 15 hours' worth of talk time on GSM and will be made available in Pink, Lime, White and Black colours at a price of EUR 180 (Rs 11,811) before subsidies and other taxes.








Nokia 700

Weighing under 100 grams, the Nokia 700 has 3.2-inch ClearBack Amoled display with Gorilla Glass technology to back it up. This Symbian Belle running smartphone offers support for pentabend radio and 3G network. Powered with 1GHz processor, Nokia 700 also features Bluetooth, WiFi, FM Radio, compass and GPS sensor.

With onboard 2GB memory, this handset features 5 megapixel camera with LED flash. This device comes with Near Field Communication built-in and claimed to be made using 100 per cent recycled materials. Sporting a speaker mess at the bottom, the Nokia 700 will be made available in Grey, Silver, White, Coral Red, Peacock Blue and Purple colours.

Expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2011, the Nokia 700 is priced at EUR 270 (Rs 17,248 approximately) before any subsidies and taxes.










Nokia 701

Powered by 1 Ghz processor to run the new Symbian Belle, Nokia 701 has a 3.5-inch IPS LCD display with ClearBack technology and wrapped in Corning Gorilla Glass. Nokia claims the 701 handset to be the brightest smartphone.

This Nokia handset comes with a new faster graphics co-processor which will have four times the graphics memory of previous Symbian handsets. This new graphics chip will be coupled with the 1 Ghz processor to give best possible performance for the Symbian Belle update. At the back lies an 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and the front facing VGA camera will support video calling. By default the phone comes with 8GB onboard memory and one can add up to 32 GB memory card to expand the storage options.

Just like the 700, event his model features Near Field Communication chip and will have NFC-enabled versions of Angry Birds and Asphalt 5 games. Nokia 701 promises up to 8.8 hours of talk time over 3G networks and 17 hours of talk time over GSM networks. Easily perceivable to be high-end handset, Nokia 701 will come in steel dark, amethyst violet and white colours.
It is expected to be available for EUR 290 (Rs 19,030 approximately) before local taxes and subsidies.
