Apple to unveil iPhone 5 during media event on October 4

Recent news about Apple’s next generation iPhone 5 suggests that Apple might unveil iPhone 5 during the media event on October 4 in California. Apple has recently invited media to attend a special event called “Let’s talk iPhone” on Oct 4.

It is expected that Apple might announce the iPhone 5 during the media event alongside a cheaper iPhone model, iPhone 4S.

According to AllThingsD, Apple has chosen the Town Hall Auditorium at Cupertino, California headquarters for the launch of the iPhone 5. Although not much was revealed in the invite, but Mark McKechnie, analyst at ThinkEquity claimed that the event would be used to unveil the Apple’s next generation iPhone, iPhone 5.

As you can see in the image above, the invite included iOS icons such as the calendar (showing a 4th, which is a Tuesday), a clock set at 10am, a Map and a Phone accompanied by the tag line “Let’s talk iPhone”. This triggers to the speculation that during this event where iOS 5 will be launched along with a possible launch of facebook application for the iPad, iPhone 5 is also expected to get announced.

The new iPhone 5 has been rumored to come with upgraded components such as an A5 processor, a higher resolution 8 MP camera, 1GB RAM, an aluminum back, a bigger screen – which will stretch from end to end and a slew of other upgrades.

This will be Apple’s first iPhone event under Apple new CEO Tim Cook, who became the chief last month after Steve Jobs stepped down due to health issues.
