Sony Tablet S runs on Google Android 3.1 OS

The Sony Tablet S has a 9.4 inch, 1280 x 768 pixels display. It runs Google Android 3.1 operating system. Other specifications include front-facing 3 megapixel camera, rear-facing 5 megapixel camera and a built in infra red blaster.

Sony has been talking about two new Android tablets for a while. The Sony S1 tablet has a 9.4 inch display while the S2 tablet has a pair of 5.5 inch displays. It looks like those were code names. Engadget reports that the Sony S1 tablet will be called Tablet S and it is due out in the first half of September.

Sony's tablet is PlayStation certified which means that you can purchase and play PlayStation games on the tablet. You will also be able to send video from the tablet to a DLNA-enabled TV or other devices.

Sony will also offer accessories like a docking station, wireless keyboard and an adapter for connecting USB peripherals to the microUSB port on the tablet.
